Freddie Rolph

Stonemasonry Workshop Manager

Freddie started his time at Towners in the main funeral office on Norman Road. His background as a fine art oil painter coupled with a keen technical understanding of photographic editing software gave him all the tools necessary to help families create the perfect service sheet with which to remember their loved ones.

Now the Manager of Towner's stonemasonry workshop, located in St Leonards, Freddie and his team enjoy designing bespoke memorials for families looking for a personal and long lasting tribute.

Outside of work Freddie is an avid amateur entomologist and apiarist, as well as an antiquarian of strange and unusual artefacts. He enjoys reading, writing, painting and prop making and draws inspiration from the natural world for his creative outlets. He has a passion for plants both in and out of doors and a fascination with the art and culture of the Far East.

His favourite word is "Crepuscular."

Julie Francis

Stonemasonry Customer Services Manager

Julie re-located to Hastings in 2017, had a job for 9 months which she says she really didn't enjoy and then started work at the Stonemasons.

Quite simply she loves the people and the Company.

In her spare time she enjoys walking and baking.

Chris Booth

Stonemasonry Assistant

Chris is an artist who moved recently to Rye, from London, where he worked for a digital archive. His role in the Towners Stonemasonry team bridges the workshop and the administration sides so you might deal with Chris at the start of the process for design or artwork enquiries, or later with scheduling or invoicing. Chris spends most of his time outside of Towners creating elaborate stippled ink artworks which hurt his hand, or splashing paint onto canvas to loosen up again. He also helps to coppice several patches of woodland in the Rother area, lends a hand building his colleague's wooden frame barn, and increases his collection of interesting new bruises. Any other time is spent home-brewing, running around Romney Marsh, and hiking or cycling too far around the region.
